Signostics to demonstrate new handheld SignosRT Bladder Scanner at SUNA 2014, Booth 115

Medical device company Signostics is demonstrating the SignosRT hand-held Bladder Scanner at the Society for Urological Nurses and Associates (SUNA) Annual Conference from October 31 to November 3, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

An affordable and ultra-portable device, the SignosRT Bladder Scanner has been designed to use ultrasound technology to automatically and non-invasively calculate bladder volume. 

Catheterization of patients with suspected urinary retention is a significant cause of urinary tract infections, affecting approximately 1.7 percent of hospital patients [1]  and increasing the length of hospital stays.  Non-invasively assessing bladder volume before catheterization can reduce urinary tract infections by up to 50 percent [2].
